Speakers at the inaugural ceremony said that Kim Jong Il is always alive in the hearts of world progressives including the African people for his undying exploits performed for the global cause of independence.

Kirunda Kivejinja, senior adviser to the Ugandan president, was elected as adviser to the preparatory committee and Henri Masico, department director of the Presidency, as chairman of the committee.

The preparatory committee decided to hold diverse political and cultural events such as meeting, seminar and photo exhibition on the occasion of the Day of the Shining Star.
