The U.S. authorities describe the DPRK's nuclear force for self-defence as a major cause of instability in the Asia-Pacific region.

Commenting on this, Rodong Sinmun Tuesday says:

It is illogic for the U.S. to talk about the "nuclear threat" from the DPRK as it holds a stockpile of thousands of nuclear weapons and has deployed huge nuclear strike means targeting the DPRK from the air, land and sea.

Disclosing the aim sought by the U.S. in making the rhetoric about the "nuclear threat" from the DPRK timed to coincide with Pyongyang's just and crucial proposal, the commentary says:

The U.S. intends to chill the warm atmosphere being created on the Korean Peninsula for detente and dialogue thanks to the DPRK's bold and positive initiative for peace, and cover up its true colors as a chief criminal who caused the nuclear issue on the peninsula.

Another aim of the Obama administration is to translate into reality the policy of dominating the Asia-Pacific region under the pretext of the non-existent "threat" from the DPRK.

Washington thinks that it should ensure the overwhelming military supremacy to consolidate its domination over the region where world powers are situated.

Key Resolve and Foal Eagle military exercises planned by the U.S. from late February to April aim at the military domination over this region. They are, in essence, a test nuclear war and a preliminary war for a preemptive attack on the DPRK.

The situation prevailing in the region is so grave that nobody knows when a nuclear war will break out due to the reckless U.S. war drills.

The culprit disturbing peace and security on the peninsula is none other than the U.S.
