An awarding ceremony took place at the People's Palace of Culture Thursday.

Certificates of the February 16 Science and Technology Prize and medals were awarded to the Material Science Faculty of Kim Il Sung University, Electronic Material Research Institute of the State Academy of Sciences, Electrical Engineering Faculty of Kim Chaek University of Technology and Unryul Mine and a certificate of the Science and Technology Innovation Prize to the Research Institute of Crops Cultivation of the Academy of Agricultural Science.

Certificates of the February 16 Science and Technology Prize and the Science and Technology Innovation Prize went to 100 scientists, technicians, teachers, researchers and officials including Kim Sung Chol, department head of Kim Il Sung University, Kim Tok Su, section chief of Kim Chaek University of Technology, and Pang Sun Hwan, senior staff member of the State Science and Technology Commission.

Those units and persons made distinguished contributions to putting the country's science and technology on a high level, building an economic power and improving the people's standard of living by applying the idea of the Workers' Party of Korea on attaching importance to science and technology.
