Pyongyang, February 15 (KCNA) -- It is important to firmly maintain the stand of giving priority to the nation and attaching importance to it in order to improve the north-south relations and achieving fresh progress in the movement for national reunification, says Rodong Sinmun Saturday in an article. It goes on: When people prioritize their own nation, regard it as important and place it in the center of all thinking and acts, can they protect sovereignty and dignity and achieve development and prosperity in line with their faith, will and guts. No matter how big differences in the ideologies and social systems of the north and the south may be, they cannot surpass the common interests of the nation. As there can be neither classes nor social strata apart from the nation, it is possible to meet the interests of all the nation members when the national reunification, common interests of the nation, is achieved as early as possible. The above-said stand means the standpoint of By Our Nation Itself. The north and the south have a good experience of achieving big successes by realizing national cooperation and reenergizing dialogue and mutual help from the stand of By Our Nation Itself after the adoption of the historic June 15 joint declaration. These were something unimaginable in the past. The north-south relations will radically develop and key matters will be solved in achieving the reunification of the country and common prosperity of the nation when all Koreans share intention and will from the nation-first stand and actively pursue national cooperation from the stance of attaching importance to the nation. Whoever sincerely hopes for national reconciliation, unity and reunification should unhesitatingly take the road of giving priority to the nation and giving importance to it, free from the narrow-minded conception of confrontation. We will as ever make responsible and persistent efforts for improving relations between the north and the south from the above-said patriotic stand. |
