Among those present on invitation were officials of the government, political parties, organizations and organs of Russia. They included those of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Federal Council, State Duma, United Russia Party, Communist Party of the Russian Federation, "A Just Russia", Liberal Democratic Party of Russia, Party for Peace and Unity of Russia, All-Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks, Communist Party of the Soviet Union, Russian Railways Company, Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow War Veterans Committee, Russian Association for Friendship and Cultural Cooperation with the DPRK and the United Confederation of Koreans in Russia.

Present there were the DPRK ambassador to Russia and staff members of the embassy.

The participants laid a floral basket and bouquets before a full-length picture of President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il standing together and paid tribute to them.

Speeches were made there.

Kim Yong Jae, DPRK ambassador to Russia, highly praised the immortal exploits of Kim Jong Il, who devoted his all to the happiness and prosperity of the generations to come.

He reiterated the will to boost the traditional bilateral relations of friendship and cooperation this significant year marking the 65th anniversary of the agreement on economic and cultural cooperation between the two countries.

Kulik, director of the Asia 1 Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, said that he recollects with deep emotion the great feats performed by Kim Jong Il for the development of the friendly relations between the two countries.

Clarifying his stand to make a positive contribution to boosting the relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries and ensuring peace and security in Northeast Asia, he wished the friendly Korean people new successes in their drive for achieving national reconciliation and economic development and improving the people's standard of living.

A performance was given by Russian artistes.
