Kim Jong Il's Birth Anniversary Celebrated in Tokyo

Tokyo, February 15 (KNS-KCNA) -- An art performance was given at the Korean Hall of Culture in Tokyo on Saturday to celebrate the 72nd birth anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il. Among the audience were Ho Jong Man, chairman of the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon), Nam Sung U, Pae Ik Ju and Pak Ku Ho, vice-chairmen of the committee, Pae Jin Gu, vice-chairman and concurrently director general of the General Affairs Department of the same committee, advisors and directors of the committee, head of the Research Institute on History of Korean Residents in Japan, senior officials of the central organizations and enterprises, chairpersons of the headquarters and officials of Chongryon in Kanto, compatriots, teaching staff and students of Korea University. It began with chorus "Song of General Kim Jong Il" and "Ode to Comrade Kim Jong Il", immortal revolutionary songs. Whenever photo of smiling Kim Jong Il and venerable images of him taking warm care of Koreans in Japan were projected on the background, the audience was moved to tears. Put on the stage were such numbers as solo "I Wish to Go" and group singing "We Will Follow You Single-mindedly" and "Ode to the Motherland" and others. Performers impressively represented the firm will of Koreans in Japan to deeply trust and remain intensely loyal only to supreme leader Kim Jong Un who is successfully carrying out the behests of Kim Jong Il. The repertoire included such colorful numbers as comic story "Let Us Keep Beautiful Flowers in Full Bloom", chorus "Let Us Spruce up Our Village of Youths" and others. They made truthful artistic representation of the will of the Koreans in Japan to exalt the honor of being proud overseas citizens of the DPRK. |
