Present there were Ho Jong Man, chairman of the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of the Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon), and other officials of Chongryon, compatriots, teaching staff and students of Korea University.

Ho Jong Man in his report said Kim Jong Il, who was born as the son of guerillas in the crucible of the anti-Japanese war and grew up to be a great revolutionary, carried out the cause of world-historic significance unprecedented in human history while steering the Juche-oriented cause.

Kim Jong Il formulated the revolutionary idea of President Kim Il Sung as Kimilsungism, proclaimed the programme of modeling the whole society on Kimilsungism, strengthened the party, state and army into invincible ranks with his superb leadership art, thus putting the dignity of Juche Korea on the highest level and demonstrating its might before the world, he noted, adding:

Kim Jong Il was an outstanding leader who wisely led Chongryon and the movement of Koreans in Japan and the boundlessly benevolent father who provided the happiness of Koreans in Japan and ensured the rosy future of the rising generations with his warmest love for them.

He called on all the Koreans in Japan to thoroughly implement the behests of Kim Jong Il under the leadership of Marshal Kim Jong Un and thus fully demonstrate the honor of being a model of the overseas compatriots movement in the world.
