DPRK Book, Photo and Art Exhibitions Open in Russia

Pyongyang, February 21 (KCNA) -- DPRK book, photo and art exhibitions opened with due ceremonies in the art gallery in Komsomolsk-na-Amure City of Russia and DPRK-Russia Cultural Center of Blagobeshensk City of Amur Region on February 14 and 15 on the occasion of the birth anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il. Displayed at the venues of the exhibitions were photos documenting immortal exploits of Kim Jong Il and supreme leader Kim Jong Un. Also on display there were works of the peerlessly great men of Mt. Paektu, books and photos introducing the development of Songun Korea and art pieces associated with wisdom and talents of Koreans. Present at their opening ceremonies were public figures of different social standings in Komsomolsk-na-Amure City and Amur Region, officials of the DPRK Consulate General in Nakhodka and a delegation of the Korean Overseas Exhibition General Bureau, etc. The participants laid floral baskets and bouquets before the portraits of President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il. Speeches were made there. A vice-mayor of the Komsomolsk-na-Amure City said that he was pleased to see the opening of the exhibition showing the reality of daily developing DPRK on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Kim Jong Il, adding that the exhibition would provide Russians with an opportunity to know better about the true picture of the DPRK and the culture and tradition of the Korean people. The vice-minister of Culture of the government of the Amur Region said that the Russian people who were honored by Kim Jong Il's visit to Siberian and Far Eastern Region of the Russian Federation in August, 2011 were deeply admired by all his efforts and dedication to the prosperity of the country and the happiness of its people. The representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia in Blagobeshensk expressed his hope that the exhibition would offer a good occasion of boosting the cultural cooperation between the Russia and DPRK, saying that Russia and the DPRK are the friendly neighbors. |
