The venue of the festival was crowded with a lot of people day by day as it was decorated with tens of thousands of potted Kimjongilias which brought into full bloom thanks to boundless reverence and ardent loyalty of all service personnel and people and progressive mankind to Kim Jong Il, and varieties of flowers.

The venue of the festival was visited by officials of the party, armed forces and power organs, public organizations, ministries and national institutions, service personnel and working people of all social strata, school youth and children and foreigners and overseas compatriots.

Present at the closing ceremony were Kim Ki Nam, Yang Hyong Sop, officials concerned, service personnel, working people, school youth and children, overseas compatriots and foreign guests.

Diplomas of the top prize was awarded to Kim Song Dok-led unit of the Korean People's Army (KPA), Ministry of the People's Armed Forces, Central Committee of the Kim Il Sung Socialist Youth League, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kim Chang Sop-led unit of the KPA, the Choe Tae Il-led unit of the KPA and a diploma of the special prize to the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan.

Diplomas of the best prize and prize for excellence went to the Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Forestry, Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of Korea, Ministry of People's Security, State Academy of Sciences, Kyonghung Guidance Bureau, Taesong Guidance Bureau and many other units.

Cultivators of the units which displayed Kimjongilias after blooming them on a scientific and technological basis were awarded diplomas of the prize for cultivation technique, dozens of service personnel, working people, school youth and children, overseas Koreans and foreigners diplomas of the prize of merits and certificates of the participation in the festival.
