Pyongyang, February 22 (KCNA) -- Various organizations of south Korea including the Institute for National Studies on Tuesday formed a joint survey group in Seoul for discovering the remains of the civilians massacred during the past Korean war, according to south Korean Yonhap News. At an inaugural press conference speakers recalled that the Syngman Rhee regime massacred innocent civilians and buried them during the war, adding it is very unimaginable that no measure has been taken to settle it. They said they decided to stage actions for reinstating those innocent victims and their descendents. A declaration was read out at the press conference. Noting they called for taking such measures as unearthing the remains of the victims but the Lee Myung Bak regime and the present authorities have not taken any measure, they charged. We will steadily conduct the work for discovering the remains of the victims with the work for unearthing the remains of those victims related to the case of the Association of the Protected in the Jinju area of South Kyongsang Province as a starting point, thus probing the truth behind other cases of massacre of civilians, and urge the authorities to opt for doing so, the declaration stressed. |
