Kim Jong Il Lauded by Foreign Papers
Pyongyang, February 23 (KCNA) -- Foreign papers carried special write-ups on February 13 and 14, illustrated with the portraits of smiling leader Kim Jong Il and his photos on the occasion of his birth anniversary.

The Mongolian paper Odriin Sonin in an article titled "Leader of the people" said that Kim Jong Il passed away in a train while providing field guidance for the country and its people. It went on:

Under his Songun leadership the DPRK turned into a power any formidable enemy dares not provoke.

He went to every nook and corner of the country to make its people lead a happy life with nothing to desire more in the world.

The Guinean paper Horoya edited an article titled "Chairman of the National Defence Commission Kim Jong Il". The article said that he established the system of state structure with the NDC as its pivot and turned the Korean People's Army into a matchless army and the DPRK into an impregnable fortress. Indeed, he performed immortal exploits which will shine long in history, it added.

The Zimbabwean paper Herald in an article titled "The DPRK celebrating the Day of the Shining Star" noted:

Kim Jong Il's career was the one of a legendary great man who performed exploits unprecedented in history and worked epoch-making miracles.

He provided the firm foundation for building an economic power through his energetic leadership going beyond human imagination.

The Ugandan paper Sun Rise in an article titled "Flag of the Workers' Party of Korea" praised him for developing the WPK into a mother party serving the people and an invincible party enjoying their absolute support and trust.
