Construction of Power Stations Progresses Apace
Pyongyang, February 24 (KCNA) -- The construction of power stations in tiers on the Chongchon River has been pushed forward even in winter.

More than 110,000 cubic meters of excavation and filling were carried out in a little more than one month.

Builders from South Hamgyong Province have stepped up the construction of cofferdam, while excavating huge amount of earth for dam foundations and a room for sluice gate.

Those from South Hwanghae Province dug out more than 10,000 cubic meters of earth in January for the construction of Huichon Power Station No. 5, while those from the Ministry of Railways and North Phyongan Province excavating thousands of cubic meters of bedrock and earth respectively for Huichon power stations No. 10 and No. 6.

The same is true for those from Nampho City, the Kumyagang Hydroelectric Power Station Construction Company and the Thaechon Hydroelectric Power Station Construction Company.
