The statement said that positive measures were taken for defending security and peace of the nation and the reunion of separated families and relatives was under way thanks to the recent peace-loving efforts of the DPRK.

It noted:

But the south Korean authorities kicked off Key Resolve to be followed by Foal Eagle joint military maneuvers, chilling the good atmosphere between the north and the south.

The above-said military maneuvers are drills for a nuclear war against the DPRK.

It condemned the U.S. for staging large-scale war exercises on the Korean peninsula each year according to the nuclear war scenario while decreasing the scale of the military exercises in other regions of the world after the end of the Cold War.

It said that all Koreans would never allow the confrontation and war hysteria of warmongers but turn out in actions to check and foil it resolutely.

The statement demanded the U.S. and the south Korean authorities immediately halt Key Resolve and Foal Eagle
