Halt to Acts of Going against Improved Inter-Korean Relations Urged
Pyongyang, February 27 (KCNA) -- The Zhongnan Regional Association of the General Association of Koreans in China released a statement on February 24 demanding the south Korean authorities stop acts of swimming against improved inter-Korean relations.

The statement said:

Now is the time to think twice in conformity with the aspiration and desire of the nation in uttering a word and doing an act.

But those of the south Korean ministries of Defense and Unification are busying themselves fomenting distrust and confrontation, claiming that "psychological warfare against the north" and "emphasis on human rights in the north" are "different from the slandering."

Doing contrary acts even before the ink of the joint press release which was agreed upon and issued at the talks was dry is a perfidy abandoning even an elementary courtesy to the dialogue partner.

In particular, the U.S. kicked off Key Resolve and Foal Eagle joint military exercises by instigating the south Korean army at a time when the reunion of separated families and relatives from the north and the south was being conducted at Mt. Kumgang resort.

Only the danger of a nuclear war is increasing due to war exercises staged by the U.S. every year and it is none other than the Korean nation that has suffered huge damage from this.

The U.S. should not hurt a climate for improving the inter-Korean relations by continuing to aggravate the situation but quickly withdraw all forces for aggression from south Korea.

The halt to war exercises targeting the north is the first step to defuse acute tensions and confrontation.

The south Korean authorities should have a correct stand.
