Present there were Pak Pong Ju, Kwak Pom Gi, Ro Tu Chol, Thae Jong Su and vice-premiers, chief secretaries of provincial committees of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials of working people's organizations, ministries, national institutions, party and power organs of provinces, cities and counties, officials in the field of land and environment protection, those in the units related to it and officials of armed forces organs.

The participants watched a video showing the successes made by the service personnel and people of the DPRK in the last year's work to facelift the land and environment, true to the behests of leader Kim Jong Il and the policy of the Workers' Party of Korea on land development.

The meeting reviewed the successes and experience gained in the last year's drive for the general mobilization for land management and for increasing strength of rails. It also discussed the issue to bring about bigger successes this year.

Vice-Premier Kim Yong Jin made a report to be followed by speeches.

The reporter and speakers said the energetic leadership of Marshal Kim Jong Un served as a motive force for encouraging all the people throughout the country to dynamically turn out in the drive for the general mobilization for land management, referring to the great successes made last year.

They called for conducting the more brisk drive for the general mobilization for land management across the country, true to the WPK's Juche-oriented idea on land management and important tasks set forth by Kim Jong Un in his New Year Address.

They underlined the need to protect and actively increase the underground, forest, marine and other valuable natural resources of the country and turn all mountains into thick woodland by dynamically conducting tree planting on a massive campaign.

They also underscored the need to build many facilities of different types at rivers, repair them well and take thorough measures to prevent flood damage.

They stressed the need to give face-lifting to Pyongyang, provinces, cities and counties and channel big efforts into the work for increasing strength of rails through coordinated operation of the army and people this year, too.

They called for giving full play to the inexhaustible mental power of the party members and other working people as required by the developing revolution. They called on all the service personnel and people to become death-defying fighters and scouts taking the lead in carrying out the great plan of the party for land development and thus more successfully facelift the mountains and rivers of the country.

There took place a short course in relation to the protection of resources and the afforestation after the meeting.
