Kim Jong Il's Birth Anniversary Celebrated Worldwide

Pyongyang, March 1 (KCNA) -- The birth anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il (Day of the Shining Star) was celebrated worldwide with splendor. Brisk preparations were made to celebrate the Day of the Shining Star as the common holiday of humankind most grandiosely and significantly. Preparatory committees were organized one after another in at least 50 countries and regions including Russia, Iran, Cambodia, Nepal, Uganda, Benin, Romania, Austria, France and Mexico in the wake of the formation of the Bangladeshi preparatory committee for celebrating the Day of the Shining Star on January 16. The committees consisted of prominent figures of various circles. Events such as meeting, seminar, lecture, round-table talks, book and photo exhibition and film show took place in more than 100 countries and regions under the sponsorship of the preparatory committees, governments, political parties and organizations in those countries. Kimjongilia exhibitions were held before full houses in Shenyang and Dalian of China, Nakhodka of Russia and Ulan Bator of Mongolia. Progressive political parties and organizations of Peru held a national meeting. Seminars on the sacred revolutionary career and immortal exploits of the peerlessly great man took place in Russia, Sweden, Indonesia and DR Congo significantly. Political parties, ministries, organizations, organs of different countries, international organizations and personages of various circles sent floral baskets and bouquets to DPRK missions in the relevant countries and paid congratulatory visits to them in reverence for Kim Jong Il. They included the king and the great queen of Cambodia, the Commission for External Affairs of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and ministries of Foreign Affairs, Defence and Public Security of Vietnam, Union Solidarity and Development Party of Myanmar, People's Socialist Party of Mexico, Mexican Committee for the Study of Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism, a Chinese company, Hong Kong Zhonghwa Energy Fund Commission of China, Council of the Kim Il Sung-Kim Jong Il Foundation, Lao minister of Defence and the general secretary of the Central Committee of the New Communist Party of Britain. Political parties, organizations and personages of various circles of different countries released statements praising the immortal exploits performed by Kim Jong Il. They included the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle, Switzerland-Korea Committee, Swiss Group for the Study of the Juche Idea, president of the Socialist Party of Benin and the general secretary of the Central Committee of the Nepal Communist Party (Marxist-Leninist). Media of many countries gave wide publicity to the sacred revolutionary career of the peerlessly great man who provided the eternal foundation for the prosperity of Kim Il Sung's nation. |
