Sports Games Held to Mark March 8 International Women's Day

Pyongyang, March 7 (KCNA) -- Sports games of officials and members of the Democratic Women's Union of Korea started at the Taekwon-Do Hall on Mar. 5 to mark the March 8 International Women's Day. Volleyball and table tennis events were held amid the Korean women's high revolutionary enthusiasm and optimism. Final matches took place Friday. The players fully displayed sporting technique they cultivated through their mass sports activities and their collective spirit. A tug of war demonstrating the collective unity and strong will heated up the cheers. The team of South Hamgyong Province placed first in the sports games in a total point. Watching the games were Ri Yong Su, department director of the C.C., the Workers' Party of Korea, Kim Jong Sun, chairwoman of the C.C., the women's union, Ri Jong Mu, minister of Physical Culture and Sports, officials concerned and officials and members of the union. |
