Rodong Sinmun Ridicules U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Meddling in Issue of Inter-Korean Relations

Pyongyang, March 10 (KCNA) -- At a hearing of the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee on Mar. 5, the U.S. assistant secretary of state let loose a string of nonsensical sophism that the DPRK is resorting to "the reconciliation-war double-dealing tactics" and trying to wrest concessions. He went the lengths of blustering that south Korea started humanitarian activities with north Korea but it is "hard to expect" their progress unless "north Korea dismantles its nukes and missiles." His remarks are an undisguised indication that the U.S. does not want the mending of the inter-Korean relations and a sort of pressure on the south Korean authorities not to opt for cooperation with the north in haste, says Rodong Sinmun in a commentary on Monday. It continues: The U.S. is making desperate efforts to do harm to the DPRK, lay hurdles in the way of mending the inter-Korean ties and escalate tensions. How low-minded and base the U.S. is! The U.S. is impertinently meddling in the internal affairs of others. Recently, the U.S. let Bush, as good as a living dead, who earned an ill fame as a political gangster during his office and is now suffering from dementia, fan up the confrontation between the north and the south, and the assistant secretary threw a wet blanket over the issue of inter-Korean relations. But the facts reveals that the U.S. feels uneasy about the vigorous advance of the DPRK and the ever-mounting atmosphere of the Korean nation for independent reunification. The U.S. would be well advised to stop at once meddling in the internal affairs of others and refrain from doing things harmful to mending the inter-Korean ties. |
