Rodong Sinmun Terms U.S. Arch Criminal Escalating Tensions on Korean Peninsula

Pyongyang, March 11 (KCNA) -- It is none other than the United States that has constantly escalated military tensions and increased the danger of a nuclear war on the Korean peninsula, says Rodong Sinmun Tuesday in an article. It goes on: The U.S. vicious hostile policy toward the DPRK and the north-targeted joint military drills with south Korea are the cause of escalating the tensions and wrecking peace on the peninsula. The U.S. stages large-scale joint military drills every year together with south Korea in a bid to threaten the DPRK by force of arms and ignite a new war on the peninsula. The Key Resolve and Foal Eagle joint military drills started by the U.S. in south Korea from Feb. 24 are bringing into bolder relief their provocative and aggressive nature. It is as clear as noonday why warships equipped with cruise missiles and other attack means, huge forces and information and operation commanding functions were deployed in south Korea. The U.S. is introducing into other countries latest war hardware capable of striking any place on earth as it pleases, keen on the moves to unleash a war. But it is making far-fetched assertion that other countries cannot develop their self-defensive military capabilities on their territories. This brigandish logic cannot work on anyone. The situation goes to clearly prove who poses a threat to peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and in the region and commits military provocation against others. It is impossible to mend the inter-Korean relations falling into deep distrust and antagonism amid the military threat to the other side and the increasing danger of a war. |
