Martin Lotscher, chairman of the Switzerland-Korea Committee, elected chairman of the preparatory committee.

The preparatory committee decided to widely introduce works of the President and his exploits through internet and hold diverse events including film show and seminar in the period between March 15 and April 20.

A statement was released at the inaugural ceremony, which said:

President Kim Il Sung brought the country's liberation to the Korean people, built a prosperous independent and sovereign state and led the Fatherland Liberation War to a victory.

He wisely steered socialist construction, turned the DPRK into a paradise for the people and performed undying exploits for the country's reunification and the cause of global independence.
