The statement said that supreme leader Kim Jong Un visited Kim Il Sung University of Politics, took part in the election of a deputy to the SPA together with service personnel of the Korean People's Army and voted for a unit commander of the KPA, a candidate for a deputy to the SPA.

The election marked a significant occasion in consolidating as firm as a rock the people's power built and developed by President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il, the statement said, and went on:

Through the election the Korean people fully demonstrated again the might of single-minded unity of them rallied close around their leader and their unshakable will to firmly consolidate and glorify socialism centred on the popular masses.

It is ridiculous that the U.S. and the Western media following it slander the election in the DPRK.

The election in the capitalist society is the money-almighty one and the polling station is a place for fight of a handful of the ruling circles, the rich and those in power.

But in socialist Korea candidates of all social strata representing the interests of the people are elected deputies.

Most of the candidates are service personnel, workers, farmers, intellectuals and women hold significant proportion.
