Pyongyang, March 18 (KCNA) -- The Ferrous Metal Research Institute under the State Academy of Sciences in the DPRK has developed a new kind of sleeve bearing made of aluminium alloy, instead of copper and tin alloys and lead. The institute succeeded in inventing a new kind of aluminium alloy material to be used in making various sizes of sleeve bearings. Mechanical indices of an aluminium-alloy sleeve bearing are higher than those of sleeve bearings made of copper alloy and babbit, with its durability two to three times longer than the existing ones. The new kind of bearing can be used effectively in crushers, presses, cranes and others. It was registered as one of the national inventions. |
