Cold Humid Land Improved in DPRK

Pyongyang, March 18 (KCNA) -- Agricultural officials and workers of the DPRK direct big efforts to improving cold humid land to raise this year's grain yield. According to data available, more than 40 000 hectares of cold humid land have been improved throughout the country up to now. 20 000 hectares were improved in South Hwanghae Province, 7 000 in North Hwanghae Province and 6 000 in North Phyongan Province. Kangwon Province and Nampho City carried out their cold humid land improvement assignments for this year ahead of schedule and South Hamgyong Province finished its plan in the main despite of difficult conditions. Meanwhile, the Kaechon-Lake Thaesong Waterway Management Station is keeping more than 20 reservoirs filled with water for the year's farming. |
