The dust originated in the Great Gobi and the Inner Mongolian areas of China Sunday, due to the atmospheric low pressure and then high-level anticyclone from central Mongolia.

It moved to the DPRK areas through the northwest air stream in a high atmospheric layer, but its influence was very weak as it was accompanied by soft rain.
