Uninterrupted innovations were made at workplaces in the light industrial sector over the past one year thanks to the efforts of officials and working people in the field of the light industry, the editorial says, and goes on:

The number of factories and enterprises which overfulfilled the production plans of consumer goods in the same conditions as in ordinary time remarkably increased through the dynamic efforts to keep the production going at high rate.

Dynamic efforts were channeled to increasing the proportion of locally available raw and other materials, successfully putting production processes on a modern and scientific basis and building production processes for developing new goods so as to open a bright prospect for the production of consumer goods.

The successes clearly prove the validity and vitality of the policy of the Workers' Party of Korea.

The party calls for raising a strong wind of effecting a great surge in the light industrial sector.

Only when leap forward is made in this sector as intended by the party, can the advantages and might of our socialist system be strikingly demonstrated and our harmonious whole be further consolidated.
