Sinister Aim of U.S. Defense Department's Report Revealed

Pyongyang, March 19 (KCNA) -- The U.S. Defense Department recently published a report on "quadrennial defense review". In the report the U.S. stressed the need to bolster the armed forces for "defense of its mainland" and for "peace" and "stability" in Northeast Asia while vociferating about "provocation" and "increased threats" from someone. This made it clearer that the U.S. will intensify its military activities for its long-term presence and military supremacy in the Asia-Pacific, says Minju Joson Wednesday in a commentary. The U.S. has become intent on beefing up military force and boosting military activities in the Asia-Pacific because it is of the view that its future hinges on its establishment of an unchallenged domination over the region, the commentary notes, and goes on: The Asia-Pacific region is faster in economic development than other regions and rich in natural resources and has huge markets. It is, at the same time, a strategic stronghold as it has major international sea routes. But there are in this region big powers, strategic competitors and potential rivals which can challenge the national interests of the U.S. Therefore, the U.S. considers bolstering military hegemony as essential for carrying out its pivot-to-Asia-Pacific strategy and seeks to deter or contain all the challenging forces that can stand in the way of realizing its strategy for world domination. The U.S. needs a plausible pretext and justification to shift the pivot of its strategy for world domination to the Asia-Pacific region and this requires constant tension in the region. This is the reason why the U.S. is working desperately to term the DPRK "provocateur" and "arch criminal posing threat". The U.S., however, can never succeed in attaining its sinister aim to put the Asia-Pacific region under its control and reign over the world. |
