S. Korean Authorities Urged to Stop Smear Campaign against DPRK
Pyongyang, March 20 (KCNA) -- The European Regional Headquarters of the Pan-national Alliance for Korea's Reunification and the Society for Cooperation among Koreans in Germany issued a joint statement titled "Anti-reunification confrontation maniacs, stop at once smear campaign against their fellow countrymen" on March 15.

Yu Song Ok, director of the Institute for Security Strategy under the Intelligence Service of south Korea, let loose a spate of vituperations malignantly hurting the dignity of the supreme leadership of the DPRK, the statement said, and continued:

The fact that such reckless remarks were made at a formal meeting of the coterie of lawmakers from the "Saenuri Party" proves that this was a prearranged scenario.

The recent wild remarks are last-ditch efforts of the south Korean conservative group to undermine the single-minded unity of the service personnel and the people around Marshal Kim Jong Un which has become unbreakable through the election of deputies to the Supreme People's Assembly, and tarnish the image of the DPRK. They are nothing but a spasm of the mentally deranged to besmirch with their dirty hands the bright image of the Marshal whom the people laud as a legendary hero.

They are, at the same time, acts of openly reneging on the agreement made at the north-south high-level contact on putting an end to the smear campaign against the other party and blatantly challenging it.

If the south Korean authorities have true intent to build confidence and improve the north-south relations, they should make sure that the architects of the smear campaign apologize for the recent serious provocation and take measures against the recurrence of such clumsy mud-slinging.

The statement stressed that the south Korean authorities should know that there is a limit to the patience on the part of the DPRK.
