No sooner had the National Defence Commission (NDC) of the DPRK released a statement clarifying its stand on the prevailing situation than foreign media gave wide publicity to it under the titles "The NDC of the DPRK clarifies its stand on the U.S. hostile policy toward it", etc. They included the Chinese Xinhua news agency, Russian ITAR-TASS, Iranian Press TV, the Uruguayan paper La Juventud and the website of the Brazilian Committee for Solidarity with the DPRK.

At least 100 political parties and organizations and public figures of foreign countries issued statements to support the principled stand of the DPRK. They included the Communist Workers' Party of Belarus, National Democratic Congress of Ghana, Sind State Committee of the Pakistan Awami National Party, Korean Friendship Association headquartered in Spain and the chairman of the Nigerian National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea.

The Maritime Territory branch of the All-Russia War Veterans' Social Organization "Militant Fraternity", National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea of DR Congo, the DR Congo-Korea Friendship and Solidarity Association, and other organizations and institutions of various countries held meetings for solidarity and launched demonstrations and protests.

Voices supporting the just cause of the Korean people were heard at the solidarity meetings. Decisions and letters were adopted there demanding the U.S. roll back its hostile policy toward the DPRK and totally stop joint military exercises for aggression.
