Japan's Crimes Related to Sexual Slavery Cannot Be Denied: Rodong Sinmun

Pyongyang, April 1 (KCNA) -- Documents of the U.S. forces proving that the crimes related to sexual slavery for the Imperial Japanese Army were committed in an organized way were declassified recently. One of those deals with the contents of questioning a Japanese army taken captive in Myanmar (the then Burma) in April, 1945. Recorded in it are statements of the captive who admitted the fact that the army set up and operated "comfort stations" in different parts of Myanmar. A series of documents were opened to public again, clearly proving that the heinous unethical crimes committed by Japan in the last century are a historical fact that can never be denied, Rodong Sinmun Tuesday says. It goes on: However, Japan is working hard to evade the responsibility for the past crimes while totally denying and distorting them, far from making an apology and reparation for them. The Japanese reactionaries are making much ado with claims that "there was no document about the state involvement" in the crimes related to sexual slavery, "they were voluntary acts of prostitutes to make money" and "there were comfort women in any country which fought a war." These days, there are such signs in Japan as denying the Kono statement which admitted that the Imperial Japanese Army was involved in the sexual slavery and the recruitment, transport and management of sexual slaves were conducted by honeyed words and coercion, not by their own will, and apologized for it. It is a height of shamelessness peculiar to Japan and a clear expression of the persistent and vicious disposition of samurais. The Japanese reactionaries are doggedly denying the past crimes and justifying the crime-woven history, a revelation of their sinister ploy to attain its ambition for reinvasion at any cost by accelerating the moves to make Japan militaristic and lurch to right. The world will record and prove all the crimes committed by the Japanese imperialists in the past and settle accounts with them. |
