Present at the event were officials and members of the Red Cross Society of Korea (RCSK), volunteers, officials concerned, members of the delegations of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and the International Committee of the Red Cross active in the DPRK, foreign diplomatic envoys here and members of the Pyongyang International Women's Association.

Speeches were made at the event.

Speakers said that the young people play a very important role in turning the whole country into a thick woodland and greenery, noting that the tree-planting through the agro-forestry management method is an advantageous method that should be positively introduced in preventing disasters and improving the people's living standard.

They stressed the need to create many more forests and take good care of them in order to improve ecological environment and ensure the human's activities for existence, adding it is very essential for the future of the globe.

The participants planted three-leave pine trees, talking with each other about the technical issues arising in planting many more trees of good species and tending them.

The spring tree-planting of RCSK young members will continue till April 13 in South and North Phyongan and South Hamgyong provinces and other parts of the country.
