Pyongyang, April 5 (KCNA) -- An article titled "To mend the inter-Korean relations is the requirement of the times" was posted by the Nigerian National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea on its website on March 25. The Korean nation, a homogeneous nation with the history spanning 5 000 years, is suffering pains resulting from their separation for nearly seven decades due to the U.S., the article said, and went on: Even now a vicious cycle of slandering and confrontation is going on in the inter-Korean relations. The danger of a nuclear war is increasing on the Korean peninsula. The Korean nation suffers heavily owing to the distrust and confrontation between the north and the south and this also brings big damage to the peace and stability in the region and the rest of the world. Putting an end to the history of north-south confrontation is essential to remove the danger of a war hanging over the Korean nation and turn this region, the one of the biggest hotspots in the world, into a permanent peace zone. This is the requirement of not only the Korean nation but also the world peace-loving people. If Korea is reunified, it will be more prosperous in all sectors politically and militarily, economically and culturally. When the north-south relations are mended, a wide avenue will be opened for ensuring peace on the Korean peninsula and achieving unified development and common prosperity of the nation. It is quite possible if one has the firm will to remove the past distrust and put an end to the history of confrontation from the stand of By the Korean Nation Itself. The north-south relations cannot be mended by the efforts of one side only. The south Korean authorities should make a decision, not turning its back on the genuine and patriotic will of the DPRK. The international community hopes that the north-south relations in Korea will be mended as early as possible. |
