Pyongyang, April 5 (KCNA) -- The European Regional Headquarters of the Pan-national Alliance for Korea's Reunification and the Society for Cooperation among Koreans in Germany made public a joint statement titled "The Japanese authorities, stop at once the dastardly racket to illegally sell the Korean Hall of Chongryon" on March 31. The statement condemned the Japanese authorities for instigating the Tokyo District Court to make a decision to allow the sale of the Korean Hall of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) on March 24. It said: It is a part of their policy to stamp out Chongryon at any cost, regarding it like a thorn in their flesh for a long period. Historically, the Japanese authorities have intensified their moves to impose sanctions against the DPRK and stifle it and resorted to political suppression and national persecution against Chongryon and Koreans in Japan after setting the hostile policy towards the DPRK as a state policy. It is a due state obligation and unavoidable legal and moral responsibility of the Japanese authorities to ensure the rights of the direct victims to the criminal and forcible drafting of Koreans committed by the Japanese imperialists in the past and the Koreans in Japan, their descendants, and to protect their properties. The issue related to the Korean Hall would not have presented itself if the Japanese authorities did not resort to the fascist moves to stamp out Chongryon politically and financially but fulfilled their moral and legal obligation. The Japanese government should discontinue the fascist rowdyism against Chongryon and make an apology for it. The moves to sell the Korean Hall are not only the violence to Koreans in Japan but also an act of antagonizing all Koreans. The Japanese government should halt its reckless moves at once and admit and repent of its criminal acts before the world. The Korean nation will closely watch how Japan in the court of the history behaves. |
