Present there were Yun Jong Ho, vice-chairman of the Central Guidance Committee of the Chondoist Association of Korea, officials of the committee and Chondoists in Pyongyang.

Yun made a report at the ceremony.

He said that the Chondoists have devoted themselves to materializing the patriotic idea of "realizing Kwangje Changsaeng (deliverance of the people)", "promoting national interests and welfare of the people," "rejecting the West and Japan" and "building an earthly paradise" in the past period.

He noted that the DPRK has recently taken several measures, in particular, prompted by its noble desire to put an end to the territorial partition and national division and pave a wide avenue for improving the inter-Korean relations by the concerted efforts of the Korean nation.

However, the U.S. and other hostile forces have ignored the magnanimity and goodwill of the DPRK and resorted to vicious moves to undermine it politically, isolate it economically and stifle it militarily, rendering the situation of the country extremely tense, he noted.

He called upon all Chondoists in the north and the south to turn out as one in a nationwide struggle to reject outside forces, defend the security and peace of the nation, establish a climate for improving the inter-Korean relations and thus, open up a new phase for the independent reunification, peace and prosperity.

The ceremony was held according to Chondoist rites.
