Japanese Authorities Hit for Its Moves to Seize Korean Hall of Chongryon

Pyongyang, April 5 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun on Saturday in a commentary condemns the Tokyo District Court for having recently decided the forcible sale of the Korean Hall of Chongryon (General Association of Korean Residents in Japan) by orchestrating an unprecedented false burlesque. The commentary says: The Japanese authorities are feigning ignorance of this, talking about the "judgment by the judicial organ" and the like in a bid to shirk the blame for it, but their poor excuse makes no sense. It is none other than the Japanese authorities who manipulated the decision. It is the present chief executive who ordered the forcible sale by auction of the Korean Hall some years ago. In a nutshell, the current move for seizing the Korean Hall is not a "strict application of law" but the Japanese authorities' wanton abuse of law, and not a mere economical issue but a bragandish political outrage. It is the deep-rooted sinister aim of the Japanese reactionaries to dissolve the base of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee and thus stamp out the movement of the Koreans in Japan. The illegal decision to allow the sale of the Korean Hall is a wanton violation of the dignity and vital rights of Chongryon and Koreans in Japan and a grave infringement on the DPRK's sovereignty. It amounts to a state-sponsored terrorist act that the Japanese reactionaries try to seize in a brigandish way the precious creatures of Koreans in Japan which assume the state character. The DPRK will not remain a passive onlooker to the fact that its precious heritage and wealth are being seized in broad daylight. If the Japanese authorities sincerely wish the improvement of the relations with the DPRK, they should ponder over the present situation in which the destiny of the relations may go bust, and stop at once their moves to seize the Korean Hall with the ulterior purpose. |
