It was attended by delegations and delegates of at least 100 political parties and organizations from almost 40 countries, members of the leadership of the Workers' Party of Mexico and its delegates.

Alberto Anaya Gutierrez, national leader of the Workers' Party of Mexico, recalled in his opening speech that the seminar of world political parties on the building of a new society has developed into a grand assembly of progressive political parties every year in the spirit of the Pyongyang declaration.

The DPRK is now instilling great strength and encouragement into all progressive political parties and people of the world aspiring after socialism.

He wished the Workers' Party of Korea and the Korean people greater success in the struggle for building a thriving socialist nation and achieving independent and peaceful reunification of the country under the wise guidance of supreme leader Kim Jong Un.

An appeal to the communist and workers' parties, progressive political parties and peoples of different countries was adopted at the seminar. In the appeal the participants expressed full support and solidarity to the WPK and the Korean people in their struggle for frustrating the moves of the imperialists to stifle them, building a thriving socialist nation, ensuring peace and stability on the Korean peninsula and achieving the independent reunification of the country under the uplifted banner of independence and Songun.

The appeal said that the eye-opening reality of Songun Korea demonstrating the might of invincible power on the basis of the integral whole of the leader and people proved solidity and advantages of Korean style socialism centred on the popular masses.

It called upon the communist and workers' parties, progressive political parties and peoples of different countries to organize grand solemn memorial service across the world on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of demise of President Kim Il Sung and the 3rd anniversary of demise of General Secretary Kim Jong Il.
