Officials and Members of Women's Union Meet

Pyongyang, April 8 (KCNA) -- A meeting of officials and members of the Democratic Women's Union of Korea took place at the Hall of Women on Tuesday on the occasion of the 2nd anniversary of supreme leader Kim Jong Un's election as first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK.

A report made by Kim Jong Sun, chairwoman of the C.C., the women's union, was followed by speeches.

The reporter and speakers said that as the Korean people held Kim Jong Un at the helm of the WPK and the state in high esteem, the tradition of the Juche revolution and the Songun revolution pioneered and led by President Kim Il Sung and General Secretary Kim Jong Il has been given steady continuity and the ever-victorious future of Kim Il Sung's and Kim Jong Il's Korea firmly guaranteed.

The past two years witnessed a striking demonstration of the iron faith, will and extraordinary leadership ability of Kim Jong Un to turn the DPRK into a thriving socialist nation by glorifying the feats of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il generation after generation and consolidating the single-minded unity of the party and the revolutionary ranks in every way, they noted.

It is a great fortune and pride and greatest honor to hold Kim Jong Un, a rare statesman and peerlessly brilliant Songun commander, at the helm of the revolution, they said.

They underscored the need to usher in the period of prosperity of Songun Korea by making a fresh leap forward on all fronts for the building of a thriving nation under his leadership.
