The statement denounced the U.S. for revealing its attempt to escalate military provocations disturbing peace and stability on the Korean peninsula and in its vicinity.

It said:

The U.S. is committing ceaseless provocations in disregard of the DPRK's sincere efforts to remove tensions on the peninsula and mend the north-south relations.

The U.S. and its followers are afraid of the national unity of the Korean people. It is because if all Koreans in the north, the south and abroad struggle in unity, the U.S. imperialist aggressors will have no excuse for their permanent presence in south Korea.

The U.S. is labeling the regular military exercises of the Korean People's Army in its territory as a "provocation" while describing their joint military exercises in other country aimed at "occupying Pyongyang" as "defensive" and "regular" ones.

We fully support all steps taken by socialist Korea.

The DPRK will take tougher measures to bolster up its war deterrence to cope with the constant threats of the U.S. imperialists.

Peace on the Korean peninsula can be defended and maintained only when the DPRK bolsters up its war deterrence.
