Rodong Sinmun Discloses U.S. Intention of Stepping up MD Moves

Pyongyang, April 9 (KCNA) -- The U.S. is grumbling about "threats" and "provocation" while citing the war deterrence of the DPRK. This is just a lame excuse to justify its moves to build a missile defence system. Rodong Sinmun says this in an article Wednesday. As far as the real threat is concerned, it is what the DPRK should say to the U.S., the article says, and goes on: The U.S. has the world's biggest stockpile of nuclear weapons and missiles. After deploying them in and around south Korea, the U.S. is threatening and blackmailing the DPRK by force, opening disclosing its attempt at a preemptive attack on the DPRK. This has destroyed peace and stability and posed threats to the Korean peninsula and Northeast Asia. The nuclear weapons in the DPRK are for self-defence, to all intents and purposes. They are strictly aimed to avert a war and ensure peace on the peninsula. They are by no means to threaten others. It is the legitimate sovereign right of the DPRK to bolster up a war deterrence to defend the sovereignty of the country and dignity of the nation. Countries friendly toward the DPRK have no need to be panicked over the DPRK's war deterrence. The U.S. claims it is expanding the missile defence networks to Japan, south Korea, Philippines and Australia from Alaska, to say nothing of Europe and Mid-east, to shield missiles from the DPRK. This does not stand to reason. The U.S. plans to realize its ambition for world domination by citing the DPRK as a pretext. As the U.S., the world's biggest holder of nuclear weapons and missiles, threatens and blackmails the DPRK by force, it is quite natural for the latter to steadily bolster its war deterrence. |
