Religionists Suppressed for Protesting against Construction of Naval Base in S. Korea

Pyongyang, April 10 (KCNA) -- South Korean police walked away Rev. Kim Song Hwan on April 7 for staging a protest against the construction of a naval base in Sogwipho, Jeju Province, according to the south Korean paper Hangyore. They also arrested Rev. Mun Jong Hyon and several other religionists on charges of disturbance of performance of duties when they protested against it. The Kangjong Village Society and other civic organizations of south Korea condemned the police's suppression and demanded an immediate release of those arrested. |
