National Fine Art Exhibition Opens

Pyongyang, April 11 (KCNA) -- The National Fine Art Exhibition opened at the Korean Art Gallery with due ceremony on Thursday to celebrate Day of the Sun (birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung). On display are art works dealing with the revolutionary career of Kim Il Sung and exploits of the peerlessly great persons of Mt. Paektu. Poster "Long Live General Kim Il Sung, Anti-Japanese Legendary Hero!," acryl painting "Day Is Sure to Break on Trampled Korea," oil painting "Spring in 1939," Korean painting "Joy in October" and other works vividly depict the personality of Kim Il Sung as a great man. Korean painting "The Leader and Peasant," oil painting "Leader, Where are You Going This Night?", poster "May Fatherly Love of the Leader Last Forever!" and other works deal with the whole life of the President whose maxim was believing in people as in Heaven. The exhibits include works praising the exploits General Secretary Kim Jong Il and portraying the true picture of the country developing as a paradise of people and a highly civilized socialist country. Present at the ceremony were Kim Ki Nam, secretary of the Central Committee of the WPK, An Tong Chun, chairman of the Central Committee of the General Federation of Literature and Arts, officials concerned, art creators and youth and students in the city. In the meantime, the Songhwa Fine Art Exhibition opened on the same occasion. |
