The statement said:

Shortly ago, the Japanese authorities made an illegal decision on allowing the sale of the land and building of the Korean Hall of Chongryon as part of their politically-motivated crackdown on Chongryon, a dignified overseas citizens organization of the DPRK, and the moves to stifle it.

To ensure the rights and interests of the Koreans in Japan is a due state obligation of Japan and its legal and moral responsibility.

The Korean Hall of Chongryon has played a role of the diplomatic mission of the DPRK for the DPRK-Japan friendship and peace in Northeast Asia under the condition that there are no diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The Japanese authorities are becoming all the more pronounced in their moves to crack down on Chongryon, far from making an apology and reparation for fabulous manpower and material damage done to Korea. This is a grave provocation against the DPRK.

The Romanian Socialist Union resolutely denounces the Japanese authorities for violating the rights and dignity of the Koreans in Japan.

The Japanese authorities should bear in mind that the suppression of Chongryon and the Koreans in Japan is leading the DPRK-Japan relations to a catastrophe.
