Pyongyang, April 13 (KCNA) -- Foreign personages in their statements on April 2 and 3 accused the Japanese authorities of their moves to crack down on the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon). The deputy general secretary of the National Democratic Congress of Ghana expressed astonishment at the Japanese authorities' behavior to seize the Korean Hall of Chongryon, an overseas citizens organization of the DPRK, and said: Japan is a criminal state which had already committed heinous crimes against the Korean people. Nevertheless, the Japanese authorities are trying to stamp out the center of the activities of Chongryon Central Standing Committee, another crime against the Korean people and a grave encroachment upon the sovereignty of the DPRK. The Japanese authorities should stop the illegal moves to seize the Korean Hall of Chongryon and opt for improving the DPRK-Japan relations at an early date as demanded by the times desirous of peace. Atanas Ivanov, honorary chairman of the Bulgarian Communists Union, said that Japan fails to draw a lesson from its past crimes. He said: If the Japanese authorities do not stop their crackdown upon Chongryon, they will be wholly accountable for the consequences to be entailed by it. Ibrahim Mantu, member of the Credit Committee of the People's Democratic Party of Nigeria who is chairman of the Nigeria-Korea Friendship Association, denounced the Japanese authorities' illegal decision on allowing the sale of the Korean Hall of Chongryon as a wanton violation of the dignity and vital rights of Chongryon and Koreans in Japan and a grave infringement upon the sovereignty of the DPRK. |
