Present there were KCU delegates from provinces, schoolchildren in Pyongyang and pupils expected to join the KCU.

Present there on invitation were Choe Thae Bok, Ri Il Hwan, department director of the C.C., the Workers' Party of Korea, officials of party organs and the youth league in Pyongyang, officials concerned, war veterans, persons of meritorious service and parents of pupils.

Prior to the meeting the participants laid a floral basket and bouquets before the statue of Kim Il Sung at the school and paid tribute to him.

Jon Yong Nam, chairman of the C.C., the youth league, made a report.

He said that Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il showed all loving care and benevolence for the KCU members.

Very rosy is the future of the KCU members thanks to Marshal Kim Jong Un who is carrying forward on the noblest level the Generalissimos' intention of loving the rising generation, he noted.

He called upon all the KCU members to always bear in mind the trust and benevolence of the Generalissimos and more firmly prepare themselves to be the reliable reserves of the revolutionary cause of Songun and pillars supporting strong and prosperous Korea in the future under the leadership of Kim Jong Un.

Then there took place an accession ceremony of the KCU at the meeting.

Led by Choe Thae Bok, member of the Political Bureau and secretary of the C.C., the WPK, pupils took an oath before joining the KCU.

Officials, war veterans and persons of meritorious service put red ties around their necks and pinned badges of the KCU on their chests.

The new KCU members made their first salute, responding to the slogan "Always Ready for the Socialist Motherland!"

Congratulatory speeches were made by DPRK Hero Ji Yong Chun, lecturer of the Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum, Dr. and Assistant Prof. Ri Kuk Chol of Kim Il Sung University and Labor Hero and People's Sportsman Kim Un Guk.
