Present there were Kim Yong Nam, Pak Pong Ju, Choe Ryong Hae and other senor party, state and army officials, the chairperson of a friendly party, officials of party, armed forces and power organs, those of public organizations, ministries and national institutions, service personnel of the Korean People's Army and the Korean People's Internal Security Forces, officials of organs and industrial establishments, bereaved families of revolutionary martyrs, persons of meritorious services and other people in the city, delegations of overseas Koreans, overseas Koreans and the chief of the Pyongyang mission of the Anti-Imperialist National Democratic Front.

Present there on invitation were diplomatic envoys of different countries and representatives of international bodies, military attaches here and foreign guests.

Kim Yong Nam, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly, made a report.

He said that April 15, the birth anniversary of Kim Il Sung, was the day of great fortune of the nation which opened a bright future of the Korean people and the greatest holiday of mankind when they greeted the sun in the era of independence. He went on:

Kim Il Sung gave the origin to the Korean revolution and provided an eternal foundation for accomplishing the revolutionary cause of Juche and making a victorious advance in the era of independence in the course of the protracted revolutionary struggle.

Kim Il Sung, who founded the original Juche idea, comprehensively indicated the theoretical and practical issues at all stages and in all fields of the revolution and construction during the whole period of the revolutionary leadership, developing and enriching the ideological and theoretical treasure store of mankind.

He set forth the idea and line on attaching importance to the arms and the military affairs for the first time in history, providing the ever-victorious treasured sword in the cause for independence against imperialism.

He led the anti-Japanese struggle to victory to achieve the historic cause of the nation's liberation and defeated the U.S. imperialists to defend the destiny of the country and the nation.

He wisely led the two-stage social revolution and socialist construction, liberated the Korean people from exploitation and suppression for good and turned the DPRK into a powerful socialist country, independent in politics, self-supporting in economy and self-reliant in national defence.

He developed the WPK into a revolutionary party that has achieved unity and cohesion ideologically and purposefully and an invincible party with bright future.

He made sure that the socialist power represented the independent right of the working popular masses, organized their creative ingenuity and activities, took responsibility for the livelihood of the people and protected their interests, thereby creditably discharging its mission. He developed the People's Army into a-match-for-a hundred revolutionary armed forces.

He rallied the masses close around the party and turned the whole country into a great socialist family in which they help and lead each other forward.

He set forth national reunification as the priority task of the nation and worked heart and soul for its realization. He advanced fair and reasonable principles and ways for national reunification, thereby opening up a bright prospect for national reunification.

He set forth the strategies and tactics on making the whole world independent, made sure that the cause of independence against imperialism made a dynamic advance and rendered sincere aid to the people of several countries fighting for independence, justice and peace, thus making great contributions to the cause of human emancipation.

The reporter said that the idea and cause of Kim Il Sung were creditably carried forward by leader Kim Jong Il and are being brought into full bloom under the leadership of Marshal Kim Jong Un today.

He called upon all service personnel and people to hold Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il as the eternal leaders of the WPK and the revolution for all ages and carrying forward the march of Mt. Paektu under the leadership of Kim Jong Un.
