Pyongyang, April 14 (KCNA) -- An art troupe of Japan-resident Koreans attended the 29th April Spring Friendship Art Festival now going on here. Its performance starts with the "We Sing of the Homeland" sung by Hong Ryong Wol, a winner of Kim Il Sung Prize and People's Artiste of the DPRK. Before her performance, Hong told the audience with deep emotion that she sang this song in the presence of President Kim Il Sung 40 years ago. It was in April Juche 63 (1974) when an art troupe of Koreans from Japan gave its premiere in the presence of the President during its visit to the homeland. The President highly appreciated Hong's artistic talent, hearing her song at the performance, and invited her to visit the homeland often. And, later he saw to it that a recital for her was arranged in Japan. Recalling the days, Hong told KCNA: We, overseas Koreans in Japan, can never forget the deep love and trust shown by the President, who opened up a new history of the Juche-based movement of overseas compatriots and took warm care of the Korean residents in Japan. So, the song "We Sing of the Homeland" will be my eternal compulsory song. My worthwhile life would have been unthinkable without care of the great Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, the care of the homeland. Leader Kim Jong Il gave a banquet in honor of the Japan-resident Korean artistes staying in the homeland to attend the April Spring Friendship Art Festival held to celebrate the President's 80th birthday and personally clinked my glass of toast. Always remembering their love, I will sing this song forever with loyalty to the respected Marshal Kim Jong Un. |
