The communist party sent a letter of protest to the Japanese embassy in Berlin.

The letter said:

We resolutely oppose the Japanese authorities' suppression of Chongryon.

Chongryon is a dignified overseas citizens' organization of the DPRK protecting the legitimate rights of the Koreans in Japan.

The Japanese authorities' suppression of Chongryon is a wanton violation of the sovereignty of the DPRK.

Recognizing that the Japanese authorities' moves to seize the Korean Hall of Chongryon are a violation of international law, we demand an immediate stop to the moves.

The anti-imperialist forum said in its statement:

The Korean Hall of Chongryon has played the role for DPRK-Japan friendship and peace in Northeast Asia by performing the duty of a diplomatic mission of the DPRK in the absence of diplomatic ties between the two countries.

We bitterly denounce the Japanese authorities' moves to seize the Korean Hall, wanton violation of the dignity and legitimate rights of the Koreans in Japan and human rights abuses.

We urge the Japanese authorities to revoke at once the decision to allow the sale of the Korean Hall of Chongryon.
