Present there were Kim Yong Nam, Pak Pong Ju, Jang Jong Nam and other senior officials of the party, state and army, a chairperson of a friendly party, officials of the armed forces and power bodies, the Cabinet, working people's organizations, ministries and national institutions, meritorious persons, heads of overseas Korean delegations and other compatriots and the chief of the Pyongyang mission of the Anti-Imperialist National Democratic Front.

Kim Ki Nam, member of the Political Bureau and secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, made a speech.

The whole life of Kim Il Sung was the revolutionary life of the prominent leader and peerless elder statesman who performed undying exploits on behalf of the country and its people, the era and revolution with his profound idea and theory, distinguished leadership ability and great revolutionary practices, the speaker said.

He extended the highest tribute and eternal glory to the President and Kim Jong Il, reflecting the unanimous desire of all the service personnel and people of the DPRK and world progressives.

He stressed the need to deeply cherish the images of smiling President and Kim Jong Il and successfully carry forward and develop their idea, cause and immortal exploits and thus creditably perform the duties as descendants of Kim Il Sung and soldiers and disciples of Kim Jong Il.

He called for thoroughly establishing the Party's monolithic leadership system in all fields of the revolution and construction and stressed the need for all the service personnel and people to closely unite around Kim Jong Un and carry on the march which started in Mt. Paektu.

He clarified the DPRK's stand to dynamically hasten the historical cause of national reunification and make positive efforts to achieve world peace and security and common prosperity of mankind true to the behests of the President and Kim Jong Il.
