The organization said that the Max Thunder joint military exercises were a serious military threat to the north, and they were part of the policy which regards the north as target of confrontation and hostility.

It criticized the exercises as very provocative and offensive in view of their true colors, it noted, and went on:

It can hardly press indignation at the south Korean authorities talking about "dialogue" but resorting to confrontation with fellow countrymen and escalating military crisis behind the scene.

The U.S. should stop the joint military exercises at once and opt for dialogue for the conclusion of a peace agreement.

The organization staged a demonstration before the U.S. training ground in Phochon, Kyonggi Province that day urging the U.S. and south Korean authorities to immediately halt the exercises against the north and increasing the military tension and conflict on the Korean peninsula.
