The participants in the festival displayed high artistry in their numbers sincerely prepared with ardent reverence for the great man, making contributions to boosting the cultural cooperation among countries and developing culture and arts.

Present at the closing ceremony were Kim Ki Nam, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Yang Hyong Sop, vice-president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly, officials concerned and citizens.

Also attending the ceremony were foreign artistes, overseas Korean artistes, foreign diplomatic envoys, representatives of international bodies, military attaches and embassy officials here, foreign guests and overseas Koreans.

There took place a prize-awarding ceremony.

Group prizes went to the Academy Ensemble of the Interior Unit of the Russian Ministry of Interior, the Eastern Song and Dance Ensemble of China, the Song and Dance Ensemble of Mongolian Army, art troupe of Koreans in Japan and art troupe of Koreans in China and prize of merits, prize of creation, individual prize and prize of ensemble went to many artistes and numbers.

Diplomas and gold and silver statuettes according to the festival prizes were awarded to them.

A letter to supreme leader Kim Jong Un from the participants in the festival was adopted.

Han Chol, vice-minister of Culture who is vice-chairman of the Festival Organizing Committee, made a closing address. He said through the festival its participants prayed for the immortality of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il and voiced firm support and solidarity with the Korean people in their drive for making a leap forward in building a thriving socialist nation under the leadership of Kim Jong Un.

He expressed belief that they would participate in the festival with sincerity in the future, too, cherishing the noble idea of the festival and friendship among artistes.

The flag of the festival was lowered amid the playing of the Korean song "Ode to the Motherland".

Performances were given by foreign artistes who deeply impressed the audiences during the festival.
