Pyongyang, April 18 (KCNA) -- An Ugandan organization and an Italian figure strongly protested against the Japanese authorities' crackdown on the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) on April 7 and 10. The Ugandan National Executive Committee of the Pan-African Movement said in its statement: We feel the extreme disgust at the fact that Japan styling itself a "law-governed state" recently made an illegal decision on allowing the sale of the land and building of the Korean Hall of Chongryon. The decision is an undisguised crackdown upon Chongryon which is an overseas citizens organization defending the legitimate rights of Koreans in Japan and has played the role of diplomatic mission of the DPRK. We urge the Japanese authorities and all institutions concerned to immediately cancel the decision which may do harm to the regional peace and take a measure to prevent the consequences to be entailed by it in the future. Franco Costanzi, secretary general of the Italian Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea, in his protest letter sent to the Japanese minister of Justice and foreign minister expressed the concern over the Tokyo District Court's illegal decision on allowing the sale of the land and building of the Korean Hall of Chongryon and strongly demanded the Japanese authorities fully ensure the rights of Koreans in Japan. |
